Under Graphs > Impacts, En-ROADS includes six maps showing the impacts of climate change around the world, allowing you to see the impact of mitigation policies on:
- Sea level rise
- Local temperature increase
- Extreme heat days
- Extreme heat and humidity days
- Likelihood of prolonged drought
- Wildfire danger days from warming
This video, part of the Mastering En-ROADS training course, demonstrates how to use maps of climate impacts to connect global climate scenarios to local communities, inspire action, highlight how mitigation prevents harm, and frame discussions on adaptation plans for what’s ahead:
For additional facilitation tips on discussing local impacts, see this FAQ: How do I use En-ROADS to start conversations about local issues?
You can learn more about each map by opening the description under the dropdown arrow next to the map name and following the links to the relevant Overviews, as shown in the screenshot below.

Note on map resolution:
The En-ROADS maps created in collaboration with Probable Futures (extreme heat days, extreme heat and humidity days, drought, and wildfire danger days) display changes only in 0.5 °C increments. As a result, when you adjust a slider in En-ROADS, the maps will update only if the temperature change is large enough to move to the next 0.5 °C step. Some actions may therefore appear to have no effect simply because the temperature shift is too small to change the displayed map. This reflects a limitation of the map resolution, not of the climate system itself.
