The temperature change you see on the right-hand side of En-ROADS is the change in global temperature from pre-industrial times (measuring from the year 1850). We calibrate to historical data on temperature change from NASA's GISTEMP v4 (2020) and Met Office Hadley Centre's HadCRUT5 (2020).
