En-ROADS is not designed for finding an optimal scenario. En-ROADS is designed to allow people to test different approaches, learn about the climate and energy system, and explore what works. Other modeling approaches focus much more on creating the best-case scenario. 

There’s no single pathway to mitigating global warming, and a variety of different pathways could work. Each will involve different trade-offs, and you can use En-ROADS to start conversations about how to take action in a way that makes sense for your own community, region, or country.
