Climate change solutions development outside the US

I am helping out a former colleague, an eighth grade science
teacher at my old school. She is looking to learn about what research and
development is being done outside the US on climate change generally, and
solutions in particular, especially in developing countries. She is already aware a lot is happening in Europe, but is looking more for what is being done in Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
I suspect
the answers will be quite different for mitigation vs. local adaptation,
with perhaps much more interesting material available on the latter, but
either way I'm just trying to help her learn what's out there.
Does
anyone know about this, or know someone who does?
